Spread the love

Amargo Foundation Core Fellowship- during the past five decades, the Foundation has welcomed nearly 1,000 accomplished artists, scholars, and thinkers from all over the world, offering time, space, and a vibrant community to inspire collaboration and exchange.

Amargo Foundation Core Fellowship

Founded by American artist and philanthropist Jerome Hill, Camargo is located at his former estate in Cassis, France, on a 2-acre site overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. Like other legendary artists who moved to Provence and the nearby French Riviera in the early 20th century, Hill was drawn to Southern France for the inspirational landscape and the light. From the 1930s until his death in 1972, Hill created a haven for avant-garde artists, writers, composers, filmmakers, historians, and more; early guests included Jonas Mekas, Olivier Messiaen, and the Living Theatre.
