Every year, Enugu State Fire Service open its portal for suitably qualified candidates to be recruited to fill existing vacancies in different positions.
Enugu State Fire Service recruitment does not follow a fixed schedule but typically occurs depending on government budgetary approval and manpower needs.
The duty of Enugu State Fire Service is reduce fire outbreak through training of firefighters and deployment of new firefighting equipment and public enlightenment across the state.

Enugu State Fire Service added that applications should be done online. Candidates are expected to log on to the Enugu State Fire Service recruitment portal to fill and submit the application form online.
Candidates have also been advised to print out the Referee Forms which must be duly completed for submission during the screening exercise.
According to Enugu State Fire Service, candidates should note that multiple applications will automatically be disqualified. As for the statutory requirements for the recruitment, applicants must be Nigerians by birth and must possess the requisite qualifications. Any certificate or qualification not presented and accepted at the recruitment center shall not be accepted after the recruitment.
Applicants must be fit and present certificates of medical fitness from Government recognized hospitals, they must be of good character and must not have been convicted of any criminal offences.
Enugu State Fire Service opined that applicants must not be member of any secret society, cult or drug addict etc and must not have been involved in any financial embarrassment. Applicants must be between ages of 18 and 35 years with height of not less than 1.65m for male and 1.60m for female, the chest measurement must not be less than 0.87 for men while computer literacy will be of added advantage
