Financial statements are written records that convey the business activities and the financial performance of a company. Financial statements are often audited by government agencies, accountants, firms, etc. to ensure accuracy and for tax, financing, or investing purposes. According to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), “Financial statements show you where a company’s money came from, where it went, and where it is now.” There are four main financial statements. They are: (1) balance sheets; (2) income statements; (3) cash flow statements; and (4) statements of shareholders’ equity.

The financial statements are of great significance to the finance manager and top management. These statements help analyse and evaluate the company’s operational efficiency and managerial effectiveness and understand the firm’s best use of available resources.

The income statement, balance sheet, and statement of cash flows are required financial statements. These three statements are informative tools that traders can use to analyze a company’s financial strength and provide a quick picture of a company’s financial health and underlying value.

Together, these three statements display a company’s assets, liabilities, revenues, expenses, and cash flows from financing, investing, and operating operations. How to Find Company Financial Statements

You can find a company’s financial statements straight from the source, i mean the company itself. All you need to do is simply go to the company’s investor relations (IR) page and look for its most recent quarterly earnings report, which is usually under a “news,” “press releases,” or “financials” tab at the top of the page. Many companies keep their latest results as a focal point on their main IR page. For example,  Amazon Income Statement, Apple Income Statement, Dell Income Statement, Facebook Income Statement, Google Income Statement, Groupon Income Statement, Intel Income Statement, Linkedin Income Statement, Microsoft Income Statement, Yahoo! Income Statement are all listed on the company’s investor relations (IR) page. On Apple’s investor relations page, the first item listed is a press release with the company’s latest results. Directly on the press release is a link to the consolidated financial statements, which contains the three main documents.

There are certainly other ways to find a company’s financial statements. For example, you can go directly to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) website and look up the company’s latest quarterly report.

The bottom line is that for all publicly traded companies give reports on exchanges, financial statements and full information to help investors like you make informed decisions.
