Full Guide to Online GED Testing

The comprehensive full guide to online GED testing is a study package that cannot be avoided if you must prepare efficiently for the general testing examination which are meant to help the high school graduate for their double certification. The General Educational Development (GED) tests are a group of four academic subject tests in the United States and Canada certifying academic knowledge equivalent for a high school diploma.

The GED certification is an alternative to the U.S. high school diploma, as is HiSET. Passing the GED test gives those who do not complete high school, or who do not meet requirements for high school diploma, the opportunity to earn a Certificate of High School Equivalency or similarly titled credential.

The GED Testing Service is a joint venture of the American Council on Education. The test is taken in person. States and jurisdictions award a high school equivalency credential (also called a high school equivalency development or general equivalency diploma) to persons who meet the passing score requirements. In addition to English, the GED tests are available in Spanish and in French in Canada, large print, audio, and braille.

How Does GED Work?

Some of the things to do in order to have a perfect examination process are scripted below:

Tools to Use During the GED Tests

There are tools to use when GED is going on. Many of these tools are required primarily for efficiency. So it is advised that you know many of them if you must excel in the exam:

  • Onscreen chat with the proctor will be available, but the proctor will not answer any questions related to exam content
  • Make sure you close out all other applications and complete the system test ahead of time. Poor internet connection is one of the most common technical issues during the test.
  • You will not be able to use a physical calculator but will have access to an onscreen calculator during the exam. Practice with the calculator tutorial.
  • You will have access to an onscreen scratch pad to take notes and perform math calculations
  • You will have access to an onscreen whiteboard so you can use your mouse to draw and write out math calculations. Access this feature anytime during your test by clicking the Whiteboard icon at the top of the screen.
  • Practice using the online whiteboard
