NSCDC Training Allowance
NSCDC training allowance (Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps). The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps pays its training staff a minimum sum. The current NSCDC training allowance is from ₦25,000 and above monthly depending on the qualification of the trainee. For SSCE certificate holders, the training allowance is expected to be between N18,000 and above, as it is the lowest qualification accepted for a job in the Civil Defence.
The NSCDC officers are usually entitled to several allowances, gratuity and pension on retirement from the Federal Government of Nigeria.
The NSCDC training duration also depends on the qualification a candidate possesses. Those training to become commissioned officers spend up to 12 months before being commissioned into the service. Those who join using SSCE, NCE, or ND train for up to 6 to 9 months before becoming full members of the NSCDC.
The Civil and Defence Department has a rotational system for revising allowance and incentives. However, most trainees state that the department has no proper structure of incentives and bonuses aside from the prevalent issue of wage disparity. However, given the dangerous nature of the job, the department offers compensation to trainees (insurance, medical, etc).
Civil Defence Training Duration
Training is compulsory for all newly recruited officers and is conducted at official paramilitary training schools across Nigeria. The exact training timeline is not certain. But from a reliable source, the training may last for 6 to 9 Months.
